This week I’m excited. I have my next book completely ready to go live on September 3, 2021. Dissonance, is a sequel to my time travel book Resonance, and is out as a preorder on Amazon Kindle until September 3, 2021. I’ve always liked time travel stories because of the way things could happen. I like thinking through all kinds of Paradoxes. I’ve often thought through what it would be like if someone did invent time travel, and the technology got out. How long would it be before our world fell apart? How long would it take for major changes to occur? Would we notice them?
In Dissonance, time travel is tearing the world apart, but only those that feel the resonance sensation really notice the changes. Wyatt is one of those special people. The changes in his past leave him with multiple memories of the same event. Whether they end up in alternate dimensions or just change their own, he doesn’t know. Brooke, Aldan, Jeremy, and Avery, the others in his group face even more challenges this time, and some of it is due to their successes in Resonance. Now, all of their memories are tested. They all remember the same experiences differently. with multiple memories each. Can they determine who causes the changes and stop them?
Time travel would sure be interesting and probably fun at times. How would my life change if I could time travel? Imagine the troubles I could help myself avoid. I would tell myself not to take life too seriously, and find the time to laugh. I could tell myself some of the things I’ve learned about life and stress. I would remind myself to read as much as I could. Good stories and reading, keep me calmer during stressful times.
It seems stress compounds, especially in my day job. Learning how to step away from it, even if only for a short time, has helped me a lot. Writing about it here has also helped me. Maybe you, my readers, find it useful. But stepping away into my writing or even reading of good stories, has made the biggest difference. Writing is a big escape from the stress in my life, even if I write a scene or two that are awful, it gives me the chance to step away. I have rewritten a few scenes a day or two after the very stressful times at work when I wrote them on a lunch break. I love to write and I love to read.
I can’t time travel, yet, so I need to make the most of the time I have now. I’m going to continue writing and improving my skill.
Check out my next time travel book, Dissonance, out as a preorder on Amazon Kindle until September 3, 2021. It is a sequel to Resonance, in the series The Machina of Time.
If you like fantasy, check out my most recent book, an epic fantasy titled, A Map, a Mage, and a Sacrifice. It is set in a world with limited technology, but where sacrifice is a necessary element to magical power. The greater the pain and suffering, the greater the magical power generated.
If you’re looking for a science fiction story, try my book The Promise of Dust, which takes place in a cloud city floating in the atmosphere of Venus. Or Progenitor’s Legacy: Deceit, which takes place many years in the future on a tidally locked world that orbits a red dwarf and has been reached by humanity in their search for the alien progenitors who seeded the galaxy with nano machines.
If a young adult science fiction is more to your liking, check out my series This New Earth, that starts with Demons of a Dead World and Secrets of a Dead World.
If you are looking for a young adult fantasy, check out my book The Threads Unbound.
