Life is full of stresses, both big and small. Although sometimes similar, the stresses I face are different than yours. Like I’ve said before, one of my favorite ways to step away from stresses is reading and writing stories. Being able to mentally step away from my current stress of each day, whether from my day job or general life stress, helps me stay calmer.
When life gets overwhelming, it’s great to settle into a good story either writing or reading. I may not have as much time as I want, since I still work full time, but when I can, I read and write. Sometimes, a good book gets me thinking about some things in different ways. It’s easy for me, and probably some of you, to fall back on what we expect. If I expect to see the bad in life, that may be all I see. Likewise, if I look for the good things, I’ll see some.
Reading and writing helps me to think more critically about my stresses and my reactions to them. There are always better ways to handle them than I do in many cases. I like to think about what drives people to act in certain ways. I like to think about what would make me act in those ways?
If you’re like me, and love to read good stories, check out some of my latest books.
I set up my latest fantasy book, A Map, a Mage, and a Sacrifice, as a Kindle pre-order available until June 4th, when it will be released. That story takes place in a world where magical power is generated through pain and suffering. The empire maintains its control through the voluntary sacrifice of its young citizens to the magical generators but that is about to change.
It’s great to see how many pages people are reading of my time travel book Resonance on Kindle Unlimited. Every day more pages are read. I have the sequel, Dissonance, available for Kindle pre-order until September 3, 2021, when it will be released.
If you’re looking for a science fiction story, try my books The Promise of Dust or Progenitor’s Legacy: Deceit.
If a young adult science fiction is more to your liking, check out my series This New Earth, that starts with Demons of a Dead World and Secrets of a Dead World.
