Wouldn’t Time Travel Be Wonderful?

So, I’ve come to the end of another busy week. I still have a fulltime job but write in a lot of my free time. I started writing a new book that really has me thinking about time travel and paradoxes. We’ve all seen paradoxes and time travel stories that deal with them. My current book project has some aspects of time travel, and I’m having fun with it.

As a young man I remember finding a copy of a book with Robert A. Heinlein stories, one of which was “All You Zombies.” That short story, although odd, has stuck with me in much the same way Heinlein’s novella “By His Bootstraps” stuck with me. Sometimes, I wish I had the ability to travel through time, but I’d probably be too afraid to cause a change. (I’m thinking about “A Sound of Thunder” by Ray Bradbury for that fear). But maybe getting past 2020 would be a good thing. This year has been rough for everyone.

Time travel would sure be nice, but since I cannot travel through time any faster or in any other direction than anyone else, I’ll read and write stories about it.

In fact, since I can’t time travel, I try to take account of the time I do have. Every day produces little pieces of time that I can use. This month, with the new book I am writing, I have been able to write 35,000 words in thirteen days. For me, it is not so much finding time, as making time. Goals and making time to reach them are key to being happy.

Thank you for reading. In case you are curious, I have a book I plan to release on Amazon in December. I’ve got it in the hands of some beta readers now. Stay tuned and I’ll let you know when that book comes out.
